Ham Fest Is Over - From Cecil''s Desk!

The HamFest is over. I don''t know about the rest of you, but I had a great time. I''m a little tired but that comes with the territory. At this time I would like to thank everyone who participated in this event.

That''s right. We had ONE person passing the test!   He was tickled to death to receive the ''gift''. We might even get him to join our club. Also from what I hear, he loves to read. Just give him a book and he''ll go through it in no time. The HamFest is over. I don''t know about the rest of you, but I had a great time. I''m a little tired but that comes with the territory. At this time I would like to thank everyone who participated in this event.

I also want to thank ''those''  (Leesville D-Star Group:  Bill-WB5LYB, Jimmy-W5CNN, Jessie-W5JZQ, Merwyn- WA5KCT, William-KF5JLX) responsible for purchasing a 2 meter/440 Mhz. radio and presenting it to the NEW HAM Silas Axsom.

Susan (N0TRS) won the Handy-talkie.  I delivered the 8900 Yaesu to Jimmy (KM5IZ) who lives about two blocks from where I live. The Yaesu 7900 was won be Josie (W5JPJ).  The Yaesu 2900 was won by Clyde (K5EYG).

Lastly I want to thank all the people for bringing the food and getting things set up for the HamFest. I also want to thank those who stayed and cleaned up the trash and took the tables back to where they came from.

August the 13th Leesville will be holding their HamFest. They have always been supportive of OUR Hamfest. It is now our time to go down and support them with theirs

Our next club meeting will be this coming Friday evening at 7:00 PM. Hoefully I''ll see you there.

Again .. my thanks to all. I could not have done this by myself.
