September Meeting Minutes 2011
The meeting was brought to order by President Dave-N0TRQ @ 7:03pm on Sept 2, 2011.
Our Prayer & Pledge was led by Cecil-W5CQG.
Secretary's Report: The Secretary's report was read by Susan-N0TRS. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Cecil-W5CQG, and seconded by Gabbey-KC9OBP.
Treasurers Report: The Treasurer's report was read by Cecil-W5CQG. We currently have $1800.96 in the account. A motion was made by Jimmy-KE5RRA to accept the Treasurer's Report as read. It was seconded by Jackie-KF5LLU. Susan-N0TRS is in possession of 2 blank checks for Emergency Vests & T-shirt supplies.
Old Business:

Many Fair: It was decided by the group that we will not have a booth at the Fair this year. Cecil-W5CQG made a motion to accept this decision, and it was seconded by Kenny-KR9C.
New Business:
Club Repeaters Continued: A new antenna was obtained for the 147.28 repeater, and is awaiting final tuning and installation. The antenna that is currently in use along with 200 ft of 1/2 inch Heliax that was donated by Don-K5ZRQ and will be employed as a packet repeater. It was further discussed to relocate and re-coordinate the OEP Repeater that resides on 146.625 repeater to the Milam site. Transfer of the trustee from N0TRQ to K5MNY will follow. Installation of the antenna for the Natchoches link is on site and will be installed weather and time permitting. These are currently the projects that are in the works at this time.
440 Repeater: Kenny-KR9C has coordinated and obtained a 440 repeater which will be running on 444.600 with a PL tone of 173.8. The repeater is currently up and running at Sabine Medical Center for testing. It will be moved to Kenny's home tower in the near future.
Police Jury: Kenny-KR9C has announced his candidacy for Sabine Parish Police Jury in District 3. He would appreciate your support in the poles on October 22, 2011. The club wishes him well on this venture.
Emergency Vests & T-Shirts: Suggestions were entertained by the group to get ARCS T-shirts made. Susan's-N0TRS and Dave-N0TRQ are checking into the possibility of making shirts with iron on transfers. They will be testing the transfers on a shirt to see if this is a feasible idea, and then email out a photograph of the completed shirt to everyone. It was also suggested by Dave-N0TRQ that we order some Emergency Vests for any members that would like to purchase them. A majority of our members liked this idea. Research will be done on the cost for the vests. More information to follow.
Upcoming Events
Halloween At Rebel State Park: ARCS will be helping with Security at the Halloween Festival October 21, 22, 28 & 29th. We hope to have T-Shirts and Emergency Vests purchased for this event.
Milam Settlers Days: We will be having a booth at Milam Settlers Days in Milam, Tx on November, 18 & 19, 2011. Cost of the booth will be $45.
Many Holiday Parade: We are planning on having a float in the parade this year. Some ideas for the float were discussed. More to come close to that event.
