Old Business:
Repeater Maintenance Update: The crew; Kenny, Trent, Jimmy, BG, Cecil, Scott, and Dave, installed the new 7/8" heliax, and 1/2" heliax on the water tower. The GP-9 antenna was replaced with a DB224 for the 147.280 machine, increasing the coverage area and range for our primary machine. Preliminary reports are that it is working very well providing better coverage into Mansfield,, Robeline, Anacoco, in LA as well as Hemphill, Milam, and Bronson in TX, more reports are coming in.
The GP-9 was re-purposed for a Packet Digipeater currently operation on 145.010 Mhz using the K5MNY callsign, aliased as MANY. The Digi is functioning as a Ka-Node as K5MNY-7 and a public mailbox is on K5MNY-1. Additionally, Dave has turned on the VHF < > HF packet gateway, this provides a link to and from 20m packet for all to use, simply connect to N0TRQ-7 to see whats being heard on 20 meters. The gateway is open to all license classes, since it uses his call sign his privileges are invoked. For more info on how to get started in operating Packet contact Dave N0TRQ.
The antenna to link the Natchitoches146.880 machine to the 147.280 machine were installed, the link radio and controller (currently on loan from Dave) have been programmed and are in place. All that is lacking is some testing for audio levels etc.
Kenny, KR9C has relocated his 440 repeater to the water tower as well, it is operating on 444.600 with a PL tone of 173.8.
Next project is to get a 2m repeater working at Bill's (N5YA) place to link Milam back to the Many machine. This is currently in the works.
