Old Business:

-Congratulations go out to Kenny-KR9C for winning the seat on the Police Jury for District 3.

-The club budget was discussed for upcoming events. It was decided that we will not have a float in the Holiday Parade this year due to lack of funds.  We are focusing on our Christmas party this year instead.  It was decided that 10 door prizes will be purchased for the party.  Cecil-W5CQG gave Susan-N0TRS a blank check to make these purchases.

-The link between the Many 147.280 and the Natchitoches 146.880 is up and running, and performing well beyond expectations.  A minor problem appears to exist, the repeater appears to momentarily key up repeatedly, no set pattern has emerged yet to cause this and its quite random, at this point it is an annoyance more than a problem.  The controller is running the latest release of firmware, Dave - N0TRQ has purchased an EEPROM with the previous version of the firmware chip for the controller and will be swapping them to see if that will resolve the issue.

Kenny - KR9C suggested that the club the link radio for the .280 machine be programmed for linking additional repeaters beyond the .880 machine, and establish procedures to implement these functions in the event we need to link Many to Leesville and/or other locations.  It was discussed and agreed that a manual method of changing the link would be preferred over a remote function.  Dave - N0TRQ will be programming the additional frequencies and tones into the link radio.

Additionally, it was suggested by Kenny that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to send to the Trustees of the Natchitoches and Leesville repeaters and groups explaining our intent and capabilities (and our proposed procedures for implementing each of them when needed) with our linking system.   Dave will be drafting it up over the next few months to present prior to sending it out.

Milam Repeater - Bill - N5YA ran across a deal on a set of Duplexers for the proposed Milam repeater, as it was under short noticed the Board of Directors made a unanimous decision to purchase them for this project.  The club purchased them for $325, as they normally retail for $1200 or more it was felt that we got a tremendous deal.  We now have a repeater, duplexers, and a proposed site... once a few more details are sorted out on the remaining equipment needed, feedline, antenna, and a linking method this project will move forward.  A great amount of interest has been brought to our attention for this project so we will strive to get it in place as soon as possible.  Our thanks to Bill for picking them up for us!

Kenny - KR9C has his 440 repeater up and running on the water tower in Many (it is sharing the packet antenna and feedline), it is believed that it will favor the south due to the antenna placement.  The frequency is 444.600 with a 173.8 PL tone.  Everyone is invited to use the machine at will.  Please provide reports on your experiences to Kenny.
